Finance Controller, Europe and Asia Pacific

We are looking for an Finance Controller, Europe and Asia Pacific, to support our sales teams and the day-to-day financial operations in these two regions. The position is based in London. The successful candidate will lead the in-country accounting firms and provide accounting and financial oversight for our offices in the UK, Singapore, and Australia. This person will report to the Director of International Accounting and Finance Operations based in New York City. This position will have a diverse interaction with sales team leadership, HR, Legal, Tax, Treasury, Internal Audit and Corporate FP&A team. You must have analytical skills, be a detail oriented, highly organized, independent, and motivated individual with the desire to gain international leadership experience and champion the advancement of policies, structure, processes, and controls working in a dynamic environment. 

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Work with local accounting firms to ensure adherence to Vimeo corporate policies, and on time submission during month end close
  • Review and approve expenses in each office, ensuring they are within corporate guidelines and budget
  • Oversee local statutory audit and regulatory filing. Provide required data to local accounting firm
  • Review and approve VAT/GST filing
  • Review annual benefit in kind filing in the UK, Singapore, and Australia. Provide the required details to local accounting firms
  • Work with corporate FP&A to develop annual budget and forecast
  • Support local sales team leadership in all areas related to financial operations
  • Provide monthly variance analysis for income statement and balance sheet
  • Work with HR in support of payroll related matters, including calculation of vacation accrual
  • Work with legal and tax to ensure compliance with local regulations and filing
  • Work with Tax team on transfer pricing and income tax related matters
  • Lead the local statutory audit as well as support the USGAAP global audit

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE YOU SHOULD POSSESS:

  • Minimum of 6 years of work experience with combination of public and private companies. Experience as finance controller looking over all aspects of legal entity financial operations preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; charter accountant preferred
  • Experience with accounting software such as Quickbooks, Xero and ApproveMax a plus
  • Experience with Oracle Smartview/FCCS/EPBCS and Blackline a plus
  • The ability to work independently and follow tasks through to completion and meet commitments
  • Ability to analyze financial statements/schedules and write commentary to explain results/variances in a concise and clear manner
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with excellent attention to detail
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, ability to link information together and translate concepts into next steps and ideas
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Commitment to continuous improvement focusing on streamlining and automating processes, driving change where necessary
  • Ability to effectively work across teams and levels, both within the accounting function, and across functions, including tax, legal, operations and senior leadership
  • Must be adaptable, able to multi-task and take on additional responsibilities as necessary while meeting strict deadlines
  • Possesses energy, enthusiasm to drive results, action oriented
  • Unwavering commitment to confidentiality and data protection
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel (Advanced, Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP’s, Conditional formulas)
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment
